Entrepreneurship creates pathways to economic opportunity, but the odds of success remain low. 20% of small businesses fail within their first year, 50% within five years, and 90% of startups fail. The challenge is even greater for Black entrepreneurs, with 8 out of 10 Black-owned businesses failing within their first 18 months.

Systemic barriers, including limited access to capital, networks, mentorship, and business resources, continue to impact entrepreneurial success, particularly for underserved communities.

Launched in 2023 in partnership with Bank of America, Closing the Entrepreneurial Gap equips entrepreneurs with the resources, guidance, and connections needed to build sustainable businesses. Through strategic partnerships, we are expanding access to opportunity, advancing economic equity, and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Through years of service as a Certified SCORE Business Mentor, chapter leader, and recognized top-five mentor, our founder has demonstrated a sustained commitment to empowering entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources, and strategic guidance needed to succeed.

Her leadership across business, civic, and entrepreneurial organizations, including the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce, City of Statesboro Business Commission, SCORE Atlanta, the National Small Business Association Leadership Council, and FUSE Fellowship, reflects a deep commitment to economic development, equity, and small business advocacy.

Through continued professional development, including programs with the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, NMSDC, Verizon, Amazon, Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell University, and academic achievement in Digital Entrepreneurship and an MBA in Entrepreneurship, our founder brings a unique blend of education, experience, and entrepreneurial insight to support businesses at every stage of growth.
